Murray Cod

Brimin Lodge has established a unique aquaculture venture growing and selling Murray Cod. This family business was established in 1992, and has grown to involve intensive production of Murray Cod for sales of whole fish and fish fillets to both the public and local restaurants.

The fish are grown in a specially built, environmentally controlled fish barn.


Water that is destined to be used for irrigating crops and pastures is pre-used in the fish production unit. The water is heated using a wood fired boiler. The wood is sourced from the thinnings from the agro forestry plantations on the property.

Recent breakthroughs have seen the first fingerlings bred on the property.
